About the Governmental Insurance at the King Hussein Cancer Center – GCCI

The Government Insurance program at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) will be activated for 4.1 million Jordanian citizens starting on January 1st, 2026.

This national insurance initiative was launched by the Jordanian government in collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), which provides coverage for beneficiaries to receive cancer treatment at KHCC if they are – God forbid – diagnosed with cancer.

Objectives:

  • The Government Insurance program at KHCC aims to strengthen the principles of social protection by shifting from a post-illness medical exemption system to a proactive, pre-illness insurance model.
  • This transition will enhance health equity among Jordanian society and ensures the continuity of treatment and protection for the most vulnerable groups within a sustainable insurance framework.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Jordanians under the age of 19 (born in 2007 or later).
  • Jordanians aged 60 and above (born in 1965 or earlier) who are not covered by any private or military insurance.
  • Beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund (NAF) and their families, regardless of age.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Beneficiaries must be Jordanian and hold a national ID number.
  • Individuals who were (or are) diagnosed with cancer before January 1st, 2026 are not eligible for coverage. This excludes those who were previously diagnosed with cancer, received treatment, and have been cured for more than five years prior to that date, without receiving any treatment related to that cancer during that period.
  • Beneficiaries must not have received treatment outside of the King Hussein Cancer Center.
